Smile & Make

Sat 7 October - Alice in Wonderland Collar Workshop

Make an Alice In Wonderland "Tallis" collar by Gather Kits with Smile & Make!
Saturday 7 October, 2pm to 5pm

Make a pretty stand-alone collar in Alice in Wonderland fabric, which can be worn with any outfit from your wardrobe for instant Wonderland style! We have chosen stunning Alice fabrics with gold metallic details in your choice of Periwinkle Blue or Navy, from the Rifle Paper Co Wonderland fabric collection, inspired by Anna Bond's illustrations for the 150th anniversary edition of Alice in Wonderland. The collar will be lined with a contrasting red polka dot fabric, stiffened with interfacing, fastened with a co-ordinating velvet ribbon, and finished off with a red heart patch for extra Alice charm!

This workshop is suitable for beginners, but you must be confident using a sewing machine.

The price of the workshop includes everything you need to create the collar, including use of a sewing machine and all required tools, plus tea and cake served on beautiful vintage china while you craft! You will also receive a copy of the Tallis pattern by Gather Kits, including a paper pattern and instruction booklet packaged in a beautiful envelope, for you to take away.

All of our workshops take place in our colourful creative space in the Barracks Workshops in the lovely market town of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. Lucy (of Smile & Make) and Bev (of Spotty Daisy) will be on hand to guide you through the process. We aim to create an inspiring and happy environment to enjoy a lovely afternoon full of tea, cake and craft! And when you've finished your masterpiece, why not pose for a photo in our sparkly photo booth area to show off what you've made!

You can find us at 11 Barracks Workshops, Barracks Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire ST5 1LG. The Barracks Workshops are located directly opposite the bus station in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Come in through the main archway and you'll see us in Unit 11 straight across the courtyard. There is a very limited amount of visitor parking available within the narrow courtyard (please use only those spaces marked as "Visitor"), but there is ample public parking just a few minutes walk away on either Windsor Street, Hassell Street or School Street (see here).

A £2 donation from each booking will be made to The Brain Tumour Charity: The Michael Barry Fund in memory of my husband Michael to fund vital research.

Tea & cake will be provided as part of the workshop - please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements in the section marked "Leave a note for Smile & Make" at checkout.
